The following documentation contains test scripts
and expected results for validating the CDISC Builder
tool. Do the following to verify proper
installation:
- Start CDISC Builder application by double
clicking on the desktop icon.

Perform each test by performing the steps specified
by the instructions.
- Evaluate the results of each step by comparing
them with results described in the Documentation
column.
Instructions 1 The following
instructions are accomplished through Windows Explorer.
-
Navigate
to the validation sub-directory named "saspgm".
-
Right
mouse click on the metadata1.sas program and select
"Batch Submit".
-
Verify
that it generates the file:metadata1.log.
-
Open
the metadata1.log. Verify
that there will be an error message as follow.
ERROR: [metadata] is missing required parameter SOURCE.
Instructions
2 The following instructions are accomplished
through Windows Explorer.
-
Navigate
to the validation sub-directory named "saspgm".
-
Right
mouse click on the metadata2.sas program and select
"Batch Submit".
-
Verify
that it generates the file:metadata2.log.
-
Open
the metadata2.log. Verify
that there will be error messages as follow.
ERROR: [metadata] has an invalid source specified by SOURCE.
ERROR: [metadata] has an invalid source specified by SOURCE.
ERROR: [metadata] has an invalid metadata database specified by
METADB.
ERROR: [metadata] has an invalid text search criteria which is longer than 20 characters.
ERROR: [metadata] has an invalid task specified by TASK.
ERROR: [metadata] has an invalid path specified by OUTPUT:
Z:\notexist\dontknow.
ERROR: [metadata] has an invalid path specified by OUTPUT:
C:\metadb.txt.
Instructions
3 The following instructions are accomplished
through Windows Explorer.

Navigate
to the validation sub-directory named "saspgm".

Right
mouse click on the metadata3.sas program and select
"Batch Submit".

Verify
that it generates the file: metadata3.log. Verify
there's no error message.

Verify there is a 'metadb.sas7bdat'
created follow the path such as "C:temp\testing\data\metadata".

4 The following instructions are accomplished
through Windows Explorer.
-
Navigate
to the output directory named 'C:\temp\testing\data\metadata'.
-
Ensure
the metadb.sas7bdat that we created in the
Instruction 3 is exists.
-
Open
metadb.sas7bdat and verify there are containing 17 rows. Close
metadb.sas7bdat.
-
Navigate
to the validation sub-directory named "saspgm".
-
Right
mouse click on the metadata4.sas program and select
"Batch Submit".
-
Verify
that it generates the file: metadata4.log. Verify there's
no error message.
-
Navigate to the output directory named 'C:\temp\testing\data\metadata'.
-
Open
metadb.sas7bdat and verify there are containing 24 rows.

5 The following instructions are accomplished
through Windows Explorer.
-
Navigate to the output directory named 'C:\temp\testing\data\metadata'.
-
Ensure
the metadb.sas7bdat exists.
-
Open
metadb.sas7bdat and verify there are 'ELIG' values in
memname column. Close
metadb.sas7bdat.
-
Navigate
to the validation sub-directory named "saspgm".
-
Right
mouse click on the metadata5.sas program and select
"Batch Submit".
-
Verify
that it generates the file: metadata5.log. Verify there's
no error message.
-
Navigate to the output directory named 'C:\temp\testing\data\metadata'.
-
Open
metadb.sas7bdat and verify there is no 'ELIG' value in
memname column.

6 The following instructions are accomplished
through Windows Explorer.

Navigate
to the validation sub-directory named "saspgm".
-
Right
mouse click on the metadata6.sas program and select
"Batch Submit".
-
Verify
that it generates the file: metadata6.log. Verify there's
no error message.

Verify
there's a metadata_search.html
created.
-
Open
metadata_search.html and verify there is 'a note as the
following:
Your
search - '!@#$%^&*()' - did not match any documents.
Instructions
7 The following instructions are accomplished
through Windows Explorer.
-
Navigate
to the validation sub-directory named "saspgm".
-
Right
mouse click on the metadata7.sas program and select
"Batch Submit".
-
Verify
that it generates the file:metadata7.log. Verify there's
no error message.
-
Verify
there's a metadata_search.html
created.
-
Open
metadata_search.html and verify that click on 'details'
hyperlink to link detail variable attributes.
Instructions
8 The following instructions are accomplished
through Windows Explorer.
-
Navigate
to the validation sub-directory named "saspgm".
-
Right
mouse click on the metadata8.sas program and select
"Batch Submit".
-
Verify
that it generates the file:metadata8.log. Verify there's
no error message.

Verify
there is metadata_search.html
created.
Instructions
9 The following instructions are accomplished
through Windows Explorer.
-
Navigate
to the validation sub-directory named "saspgm".
-
Right
mouse click on the metadata9.sas program and select
"Batch Submit".
-
Verify
that it generates the file:metadata9.log. Verify there's
no error message.
-
Verify
there will be a 'metadata_search.html' created in 'C:\temp\cdiscbuilder'.
-
Open
'metadata_search.html' and verify there is a sample code at the
bottom of file.
